Meet The Therapist

Before entering the mental health field, Karla spent over a decade in veterinary medicine, working as a nurse, supervisor, and operations manager. That season of life sparked a passion for helping those in high-stress, high-responsibility professions. Alongside that, her own journey through therapy deepened her belief in care that is collaborative, emotionally honest, and tailored to each person's real, lived experience.

Karla currently works with neurodivergent adults and adolescents (11+), parents navigating complex family dynamics, and individuals facing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, boundary challenges, or the lasting impact of developmental trauma.

Karla is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC #26423) with a passion for offering thoughtful, grounded care—especially for those who might feel like traditional therapy wasn’t made for them.

She holds two master’s degrees, including an M.S. in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from theUniversity of the Southwest. Her approach is shaped by a blend of personal experience, clinical training, and a commitment to creating neurodivergent-affirming, culturally responsive spaces.

She draws on a range of while maintaining a flexible, client-led process.

As a bilingual Latina, South Floridian and daughter of immigrants, Karla brings cultural awareness and lived perspective into the room with humility and depth.

Outside of counseling, Karla is a wife, a stepmom, pet mom, singer, and crafter who believes in the power of small, ordinary moments that bring healing.

A personal message:

You may be curious about the name and logo. In the Star Wars show, The Mandalorian, there is a forge where a character known as “the Armorer” crafts armor with care and purpose. While she works, members of her community wait nearby—sometimes talking with her, sometimes reflecting aloud, often discovering clarity as they go.

Over the thousands of hours I’ve spent in my armchair, I have come to see the therapy space like that forge. In that chair, I’ve had the honor of witnessing my clients’ stories, histories, traumas, fears, laughs, and greatest joys. I’ve cried, laughed, and ached as my clients let themselves feel, sometimes for the first time.

It starts in that room, in that chair. I want to welcome clients into a space, much like a foundry where they bring raw materials—their story. Even more importantly, it’s where they discover the strength and wisdom they didn’t know they had. It’s not just symbolic—it’s practical, too. There are tools here, and together we use them to build the mind, heart, and life they want.

To every client I’ve ever worked with: thank you. It’s a great honor in my life to do this work.

We recommend verifying your insurance benefits, as many insurance companies use major insurance companies to manage their mental health coverage. Benefits can feel complicated and sometimes clients are surprised by their benefits for mental health.
